From creating your first group to settling up — a complete walkthrough for new users.
Start by creating a group for your trip, household, or any shared activity. Give it a name and choose a type — Trip, Roommate, Event, or Project — so the UI adapts to your use case.
Use the "Trip" type for travel. It unlocks expense categories like accommodation, transport, and meals.
Invite members by sharing the group's unique invite code or sending a direct email invite from the Members tab. Friends join instantly — no app installation required. You can also add guest members (name-only) for people without accounts.
Share the invite code via WhatsApp or Messenger. It's the fastest way to get everyone in.
Log expenses as they happen. Enter the amount in BDT (or any currency), a description, who paid, the category, and which members share the cost. Split equally or set custom amounts.
Add expenses in the moment — don't wait until the trip ends. It only takes 10 seconds per expense.
The Balances tab shows a real-time summary of who owes whom across all expenses. Green means you're owed money; red means you owe. Tap any balance to see the full breakdown.
Check balances after every group expense — you'll always know exactly where things stand.
When you're ready to settle, use the Simplify Debts feature. It automatically calculates the minimum number of transfers to clear all balances in the group — turning many transactions into just a few.
Debt simplification can reduce a group of 6 people's 15 possible transfers down to just 5. Less hassle, same result.
Skip the manual entry. Snap a photo of any receipt and let AI do the heavy lifting — handwritten or printed, in any language.
Take a photo of any bill — restaurant receipt, handwritten note, or printed invoice. Drag and drop or use your camera.
Works best with good lighting. Even crumpled receipts and handwritten notes are recognized.

AI extracts every item, price, and total. Review the results and adjust if anything needs correction.
Check the total — if it doesn't match, you'll see a warning. You can add or remove items manually.
Tap each item and choose who shares it. Tax is distributed proportionally. Everyone sees exactly what they owe.
Perfect for restaurant bills where everyone ordered different items.
Living with others? Set up recurring bills, track variable expenses, and see where your household money goes — all on autopilot.
Create bills for rent, utilities, internet. Choose fixed or variable, set frequency, pick participants. Fixed bills auto-split on schedule; variable bills wait for confirmation.
Start with your biggest recurring expense (like rent). Once it's set up, SplitBill handles it automatically every month.
View all active and paused bills in one place. Filter by status, see when the next charge is due, and spot variable bills at a glance. Pause a bill when someone moves out temporarily, resume when they're back.
Variable bills are marked with an amber badge so you always know which ones need manual confirmation.
Variable bills like electricity don't cost the same every month. When a variable bill is due, it shows up as "Pending" with a suggested amount. Review it, adjust if needed, and confirm to split among roommates.
You can change the split amounts before confirming — useful when one roommate uses more electricity or was away for part of the month.
Variable bills need your approval before splitting

Not everything is a recurring bill. Groceries, cleaning supplies, a new router — add these one-off shared expenses just like you would in any group. They show up alongside your recurring costs so nothing gets missed.
Use categories to keep things organized. At the end of the month, you'll see exactly how much went to groceries vs. household supplies vs. everything else.
See your household's total spending month-over-month. The trend chart helps you spot if bills are creeping up, compare seasonal changes, and have informed conversations about shared expenses.
Check this before the monthly rent meeting. It's easier to discuss shared expenses when everyone can see the numbers.
